Dr Mohamed Wageih is a Project and Policy Officer at the PRIMA Partnership – Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area, based at the PRIMA Secretariat in Barcelona. His work focuses on Euro-Mediterranean research and innovation cooperation in sustainable agri-food systems, water, climate resilience, innovation uptake, and the WEFE Nexus. With more than 15 years of experience in EU-funded research, innovation, and development programmes, Dr Wageih has contributed to the design, coordination, monitoring, and policy valorisation of initiatives/actions under FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, EuropeAid, and DG NEAR. Before joining PRIMA in 2018, he held senior roles in Egypt’s research and innovation ecosystem, including at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. At PRIMA, he supports the monitoring and strategic analysis of agro-food-funded projects and contributes to the development of tools for impact assessment, evidence-based policy learning, and programme-level valorisation. His recent work focuses on strengthening Mediterranean–Europe cooperation corridors by connecting research results with policy, entrepreneurship, investment, and market uptake. Dr Wageih brings to the panel a practical Euro-Mediterranean perspective on how green cooperation corridors can accelerate sustainable innovation, climate resilience, and shared prosperity across the Mediterranean and Europe.
